Frequently Asked Questions
Do you remove old decals and lettering?
Yes. We can remove old company names, logos, identification numbers, and other vehicle graphics when a truck is being rebranded, changing motor carriers, or receiving updated lettering.
Old decal removal and adhesive-residue cleanup are available for an additional fee. When included in the project, we remove the remaining adhesive and prepare the area so the new graphics have a cleaner, more professional appearance.
Will decal removal damage the paint?
Decal removal is generally safe when the vehicle has factory paint in good condition and the original graphics were produced with quality vehicle-grade material. However, we cannot guarantee that removal will never affect the paint.
The final result can depend on several factors, including the age and condition of the paint, previous bodywork, repainted or touched-up panels, sun exposure, the material originally used, and how long the graphics have been installed.
We inspect the graphics and surrounding surface before beginning and will let you know if we notice any visible concerns. Customers should also tell us about any known repainting, repairs, or touch-up work before removal begins.
How long does installation take?
Most commercial truck lettering projects take approximately three to five hours, but the exact time depends on the project.
Factors that may affect installation time include:
- The amount and size of the lettering
- The number of graphics being installed
- Placement on the doors, hood, cab, or other areas
- The number of vehicles
- Whether old graphics must be removed
- The condition of the old decals and adhesive
- Surface preparation
- Weather and installation conditions
Projects involving sun-baked decals, heavy adhesive removal, detailed printed graphics, or several vehicles may require additional time. We review the project before installation and provide a more accurate expectation based on the work involved.
Can you produce full-color logos and detailed graphics?
Yes. We can produce both solid-color vinyl lettering and full-color printed graphics.
Printed graphics may be recommended when a logo or design includes:
- Multiple colors
- Gradients
- Borders or outlines
- Shadows
- Detailed illustrations
- More complex visual elements
We will recommend the production method that best fits the artwork, vehicle, and desired finished appearance.
Can you match my existing fleet lettering and colors?
Yes. We can recreate the general colors, sizing, placement, and appearance of existing fleet graphics to help multiple vehicles look consistent.
For the best results, we recommend providing the original vector logo file, preferably in an approved PDF, AI, EPS, or SVG format. Clear photos, measurements, and existing brand-color information are also helpful.
Although we work to create a close visual match, exact color matching cannot always be guaranteed. Differences in vinyl material, printing methods, faded existing graphics, vehicle color, lighting, and the files provided can result in slight variations. In most cases, these differences are subtle, but they may be noticeable when old and new graphics are compared directly.
Do you provide mobile installation?
Yes. Mobile installation is included for suitable locations within 50 miles of downtown Dallas. Locations outside that area may require an additional travel fee.
Installation can be completed where the truck is normally parked, including a business location, truck yard, terminal, or another safe and suitable site.
The vehicle must remain stationary throughout the installation. We cannot perform installations at fuel stations, loading areas, roadside locations, or while a driver is waiting to leave for the next load. The installation area must provide enough room for us to work safely and produce the best possible result.
What information do you need for a quote?
Start by completing our quote-request form with your name, email address, phone number, and basic project details.
To help us prepare an accurate quote, please have the following information available when possible:
- Vehicle year, make, and model
- Number of vehicles
- Photos of the areas receiving graphics
- Company name
- Logo file
- USDOT, MC, unit, or other identification numbers
- Installation location
- Existing graphics that need removal
- Any specific colors, placement, or sizing requested
- Preferred completion timeframe
If you do not have everything ready, submit the information you currently have. We can follow up to collect the remaining details.
Do you work on one truck or multiple vehicles?
Yes. We work with individual owner-operators, trucking companies, and commercial fleets.
For multiple vehicles, we use the approved artwork and available vehicle information to keep the colors, sizing, positioning, and overall appearance as consistent as possible. Because different years, makes, and models may have different door shapes and available installation space, minor layout adjustments may be necessary to maintain a clean and cohesive fleet appearance.
Do you provide or register USDOT and MC numbers?
No. AACS Graphics does not apply for, issue, register, activate, or verify USDOT or MC numbers.
We produce and install the decals and lettering using the information provided and approved by the customer. Customers are responsible for obtaining the appropriate identification numbers and confirming that all submitted information is accurate before production.
Can you determine the correct lettering size and placement?
We design and install commercial truck lettering with visibility, readability, spacing, available surface area, and professional appearance in mind.
However, AACS Graphics does not determine which markings are legally required for a particular vehicle or operation. Requirements may vary depending on the vehicle, motor carrier, type of operation, jurisdiction, and applicable regulatory authority.
Customers are responsible for confirming:
- The exact company name that must be displayed
- The identification numbers required
- Minimum lettering sizes
- Placement requirements
- Color and contrast requirements
- Any additional state, federal, or operation-specific markings
When a customer provides specific sizing or placement requirements, we will use that information when preparing the layout. Customers should review and approve all names, numbers, sizes, and placement before production and installation.
